PARIS || Châtelet

Thrifting & Rolled Ice Cream in Châtelet

During my first week here, a few friends and I came across a great little area right off the metro stop of Châtelet.  In pursuit of finding a thrift store or two, we came across a street filled with little shops and cute cafes.  After a bit of shopping (where Angela found this awesome hat!), we stopped by the cutest "art pastry shop" called Monsieur Benjamin.  It was my first time trying "rolled ice cream."  The entire process was so beautiful to watch and for some reason it tasted even better than normal "scooped" ice cream!

This side street off of Châtelet is definitely a great place to spend the afternoon!

Bonjour from Paris!

As tomorrow marks two weeks of living in France, I realized a blog post was quite overdue!

For those of you who don't know, I will be spending this semester studying in Paris.  I am living in the 11th district and have spent the past two weeks exploring my little area.  This weekend I knocked out some of the more touristy activities - climbing to the top of the Arc de Triomphe, having a picnic in front of the Eiffel Tower, visiting Lauderee for some macaroons, etc.  But what I've really been enjoying these past two weeks have been learning to take the metro, finding the best fresh baguette spots on the way home, and sitting on my balcony people-watching! It's been a fun first two weeks of exploring my new home! More photos to come soon.

Located nine blocks from the first Starbucks store is the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room where I enjoyed my first cup of coffee ever!

Everything about the Roastery was so aesthetic and beautiful. There were so many handcrafted and artisan elements about the Reserve that made it truly unique.

I'm so glad that I got the opportunity to spend some time here while visiting Seattle. I would highly recommend it to all coffee lovers & Starbucks fanatics!

See video about the Roastery here.
