11-25 Pre-Thanksgiving Thrift Finds

Yes! Last day of school before the long Thanksgiving break - I can already taste the pumpkin pie and stuffing! To celebrate, I have watched a few too many episodes of Bob's Burgers and ventured to Goodwill to do some thrifting.  Found some funky vintage 70's shoes and a carpet-style bag (is that the appropriate term? It's hard to see, but the fabric is basically an office-carpet. On the plus side, it was previously owned by a doctor from Arizona (he left the name tag in there)).  Also, found an oversized jean jacket with wool fleece lining - perfect for this cold weather!

Excited for Thanksgiving (if you couldn't tell) - hope everyone has a fun holiday!

Highlights from the Week

Happy Saturday! Can't believe we're less than a week away from Thanksgiving! This week was super busy, as most tend to be now a days.
I started off the week by developing a roll of film from the Kodak Starflash - finally decided on it being my concentration for the year - excited to scan some prints and upload them soon!
For a Yearbook project we borrowed our lovely English teacher's beautiful typewriter to recreate a photo from the 1973 yearbook.
Ended the week with a birthday dinner at Portillos for our friend Francesca.  Great way to end the week with some cheese fries and milkshakes!

Overall, a very fun week - Happy Saturday!

11-15 OOTD

Bra: FREE PEOPLE  | White Crop Tee (similar): ASOS | Sweater: (thrift-find) |
High Waisted Jeans: URBAN OUTFITTERS | Boots: DOC MARTEN | Socks (similar): URBAN OUTFITTERS

Happy Sunday! It has been a busy week! On Saturday I picked up some tea from my favorite coffee shop and spent the day scanning slides.  As the scanner took forever to load, I sadly didn't get as much done as I had planned, sooo instead of starting "slide Sunday" today, I've posted my outfit of the day from yesterday.  I know, I know, it's not as exciting, but I promise slides will be up soon!

I can't believe that as I type this post it's snowing outside! The ground is covered in a thin white layer of snow and radio stations are already playing Christmas music - The holidays are upon us! But first, I'm looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

WCW: Sasha

Remember that time Sasha and I shot at the haunted gate? Yeah? No? That's okay, it was a while ago. I finally got around to editing my favorite shots just in time for woman crush Wednesday! Here's to the best model and book babe around :)

Some exciting things happened this week - I voted for the first time! #patriotic
I also finally looked at a box of slides I bought at a antique store while in Kalamazoo. So many amazing photographs from the 50's-60's taken in Germany & Switzerland.  After spending an hour looking through them on the projector, I decided to start the project of scanning all 80 slides and posting them slowly (but surely) on the blog. What do you think - "Slide Sunday?" (is that lame?).
If at this point you're totally confused and wondering what I'm talking about, head over to my friend Lexi's blog to see her beautiful Kodachrome color slides of her family; part of her major project to resurrect her families history with the power of one scanner, a computer and her free-class-periods (they're all extremely beautiful and make me want to be a member of her family!). Excited to start posting!

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Sunday Throwback

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you're enjoying that one "extra" hour we got today from daylight savings time; I sure did - one extra hour of sleep? Yes please!

Here's a few shots I took with Aniz a couple weeks ago in the prairie. Today I read a quote posted by a fellow photographer friend "October is to photographers what April is to accountants" - such a perfect quote to summarize how I feel about the beautiful colors and light fall has to offer.  As fall is slowly slipping into winter, I'm trying to take full advantage of the photo ops available. Hopefully more shoots to upload soon!

Have a wonderful week!

PS We took some shots on the Kodak Brownie (third to last photo) - looking forward to developing the film this week
