KL BIRD PARK

KL Bird Park - The World's Largest Free-Flight Walk-In Aviary

This is one of my favorite tourist spots in KL! Over the years my family has been visiting this bird park.  We have a photo like the one above from each time we've visited, going back many years.  I love seeing all the beautiful birds and walking about

MALAYSIA

Missing Malaysia already.

Here are some shots of my usual view when I'm there. So many plants and lots of cats finding places to rest from the hot sun.  It was so fun to see family and spend time with everyone.
More Malaysia photos to come soon!

ST. LOUIS

Henri Matisse || Small Black Woodcut, 1906
Elizabeth Catlett || Sharecropper, 1952
Nan Goldin || Lynette & Donna at Marion's Restaurant, 1991
Dorothea Lange || Migrant Mother, Nipomo, CA, 1936

To start off the summer, I headed off to St. Louis, Missouri for a school competition. On the last day of the trip, my friends, Akash and Phil, joined me in enjoying the sights of the busy city. These photos were taken on this last day of our trip, when Phil, a St. Louis native, brought us to some of his favorite spots.  Our first stop was brunch at The Mudhouse Coffee Shop.  Afterwards, we picked up Phil's dogs, Juno and Duncan, and headed to Forest Park where we enjoyed the hot weather and beautiful views.  To my very pleasant surprise, the St. Louis Art Museum was at the top of one of the hills which we ran up with Phil's pups.  Of course, I had to stop in.  I was excited to find out that one of the most important prints in Americana photography history was there - Dorothea Lange's Migrant Mother print. I could not contain my excitement, as it was such a gem to find!  I also got to see my first Nan Goldin print in person, which was extremely inspiring. Seeing these two prints was definitely the cherry on top of a wonderful trip!
